Owning a car in London can be a nightmare of epic proportions. You’ll have to pay for driving the car within the city limits, every day, and you’ll be forced to pay for parking wherever you park. That is, if you can find somewhere to park it!

The way that that London has been established means that each neighborhood has a small collection of shops and services, known as the ‘high street’.  You’ll find soon after your relocation that your neighborhood will have some grocery stores, banks, pubs, and restaurants. ·      They drive on the wrong side of the road. Now that you are moving here you’ll have to get used to the fact that it’s YOU who drives on the wrong side of the road! The British drive on the left hand side of the road, which can take a while to get used to and is not something you want to try in rush hour traffic while driving a stick shift for the first time.

·      Nearly all vehicles on the road use a stick shift transmission. When you take your British test you’ll have to qualify on a standard transmission to get a full licence.
